Highlights

Felicity continued her rise and rise when she finished second in the 200 metre butterfly at the 2004 Telstra Olympic Team Selection Trials to earn a ticket to her first Olympics. She set massive personal best times in all three butterfly events, but it was Felicity's courageous swim over her pet distance, the 200 metres, that booked her seat on the plane, clocking 2.08.83.

Galvez came of age in 2003 winning the 200 butterfly, her first Australian Long Course title, at the Telstra Australian Championships in her home pool.

She then took that form onto the World Championships in Barcelona, where she produced three swims under 2:11, making the final and finishing seventh in a new personal best of 2:10.58.

Felicity also stood tall on the international stage in 2002 with some encouraging performances at the World Short Course and Pan Pacific Championships.

The then 17-year-old finished 9th in the 200m butterfly at the World Short Course Championships in Moscow after she finished 2nd in the same event at the 2002 Australian Championships.

That result was enough to get her onto the team for the Pan Pacific Championships and she performed tremendously well in Yokohama.

"Flea" swam three pb's, which helped her to make the semi finals of the 100m buttefly and catapulted her to 4th place in her pet event the 200m butterfly clocking 2:11.27.

Previously she finished in 3rd place in the 200m butterfly at the 2001 Australian Championships - just 0.02 outside a place in the team for World Championships.

However, that did qualify Felicity for the 2001 Goodwill Games in Brisbane where she helped Australia women win the overall gold medal.

She also represented Australia at the 2001 East Asian Games in Osaka.
